The Art History program at Saint Louis University in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts will host a lecture by Carolyn Valone, Ph.D. on Friday, March 27, 2020. Dr. Valone, former SLU faculty member and Professor Emerita of Trinity University, will present Women at the Gesù in Renaissance Rome. Residing again in St. Louis after living in Italy for 22 years, Valone's work on “matrons and patrons” and pie donne was considered groundbreaking in the 1990’s, and her continuing research on women as patrons of art and architecture has pioneered a methodological approach that many scholars have followed.

The lecture will be in Boileau Hall, 38 North Vandeventer, beginning at 3:30, with a reception following the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
