Mark Pack: Unanswerable Questions

Houska Gallery
4728 McPherson Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63108
February 21, 2020 to March 28, 2020

Mark Pack defines his artistic process as one of cultivation rather than manufacturing. His practice explores themes of nature and how we as a society interact with it. For Pack, this is a way to examine the duality between chaos and control.

His sculptures explore these themes through the process of brushing, pouring, and layering paint—sometimes hundreds of layers. Then, he goes into these layers, cutting and reshaping the work and watching it evolve through the various stages.

Unanswerable Questions is featured in our Upstairs Gallery, and runs concurrently with Peter Manion's Peek-A-Boo pop-up and performance.
