After 17 years together, and a decade-long tradition with Jazz St. Louis, The Bad Plus announced a major change in the band’s infrastructure last spring.  Longtime pianist Ethan Iverson will be leaving the group, with Philadelphia native Orrin Evans joining the band in 2018.  With Iverson’s final engagement set for December 2017, bassist Reid Anderson and drummer David King will debut the NEW version of The Bad Plus, with Evans, at the Bistro!  With the new lineup, the band continues their long-standing tradition of being a leaderless trio with a committed belief in what they’ve dubbed ‘avant-garde populism’ — the idea that serious music can be as engaging and accessible as it is forward-thinking and provocative.
