From story time to story telling
We want to tell you a story. One about this cherished but imperfect place we call home. St. Louis, like so many other places in America, is a story of contradictions. It is known as a great place to raise a family, and is also recognized as a place defined by deep and painful racial inequities.
We Stories is working hard to rewrite the narrative of St. Louis by helping to change parent-child conversations to proactively address racism, and reframe stories of what it will take to make change in St. Louis. Through We Stories' partnerships with local libraries and bookstores, hundreds more families have experienced diverse characters. Over the last two years, We Stories has empowered 550 families to bring diverse stories into their homes.
We need more champions and advocates that recognize the need for change. People like YOU who are dedicated to transforming their own bias and dream of a St. Louis that is a caring and welcoming community for all.
Your donation can do so much.
A gift of $100 will secure the time and talent of Alicia Like, the storyteller who is a favorite feature of our program. A gift of $600 will staff an event featuring a storytelling performance for up to 100 families. A gift of $1,600 will fund a storytelling and advocacy training for enrolled families. A gift of $3,000 will support a social media campaign to elevate stories of change in our community.
Thank you for your generous support of We Stories! Together, we can make St. Louis a region where all families, regardless of race, have the opportunity to thrive.
